Train to Sustain

The Train to Sustain program offers a “hands on” education and work experience for those with special needs

About Train to Sustain

Through the Train to Sustain program A New Day is able to provide guidance and instruction on employment ethics and attitude and offers a paid internship. Following a six-week employment education program, each participant then is offered work experience at A New Day’s donation center. Once an individual completes their training and work experience, they are assisted with finding employment within the community in either an individual or group placement.

The Train to Sustain program consists of three primary objectives:

  1. Develop, maintain, and increase personal self-sufficiency.

  2. Prevent or remedy abuse, neglect, or exploitation if individuals are unable to protect their own interests.

  3. Promote greater independence of participants and prevent or reduce inappropriate or excessive institutional care.

The Donation Center is now open to the public! We are accepting new and gently used items. We currently have six members working part time. When you donate to us, you are helping people right in your community, either up the street or just around the corner, as we like to say!
